Molecular Biology of Archaea, Institute of Biology II
In our group we are studying different aspects of the Molecular Biology of Archaea. We are interested in the assembly of cell surface appendages and their role in motility, adhesion and biofilm formation. Moreover, we study how the expression of these appendages is regulated. Another focus lies in the understanding of cell division in Archaea. We always combine in vivo approaches with biochemical, biopysical and structural approaches.
We are welcoming bachelor and master students. If you are interested in project, please contact Prof. Sonja Albers.
